Daantje Bos

I am proud to be an ambassador for EDIX. EDIX aligns perfectly with our vision and approach to working with horses, and together, we hope to spread this even further. We have received many wonderful products from EDIX and are testing them all with different horses. For now, our favorite products are the 8-pocket dressage pad, thanks to its many possibilities, and the Union bareback pad. The bareback pad took some adjustments before we got it exactly right for both us and the horses, but thanks to its various options, we managed to do so and are now very happy with it.

As horse trainers and instructors, Daantje Bos and Kristien Rutten, see many different horses and combinations and believe that EDIX could be a valuable addition for many of them. Additionally, we have four horses of our own.

Two Lusitanos, Leote (gelding, 10 years old) and Obrigada (mare, 7 years old), and two American Miniature Horses, Bandito (gelding, 8 years old) and Chico (stallion, 4 years old). Obrigada is mainly my horse. I haven't had her for very long, she is quite inexperienced for her age, and I am teaching her everything bridleless. Leote belongs to both of us. He came to us with a special story (which can be found and followed on my Instagram), and with him, we are always searching for the best management to keep him physically healthy. The minis do a lot of liberty work, trick training, and groundwork. Chico also works bitless in harness for the sulky.

I, Daantje, focus a lot on backing young horses, helping horses that have developed behavioral issues in their interactions with humans, and training our own horses for shows and demonstrations at various (major) events. I have specialized in bridleless riding and liberty work and am a two-time Dutch champion in neck rope dressage with my previous horse, Methar, and reserve world champion in bridleless dressage with Leote. This year, September 2025, I will represent the Netherlands at the Bridleless Riding World Championship with both Lusitanos, Leote and Obrigada.

Kristien, my mother, travels across the country to give lessons to people with their horses. She provides a wide variety of lessons, from competition-oriented dressage to bridleless riding, groundwork, and long-reining. In all disciplines, just like in all our training, the focus remains the same: health, relaxation, communication, and trust. On the days she is home, she trains the horses, we train together, and we are both employed as stable managers at a boarding facility in Mariënheem.
